Use your measurements and the manufacturer’s chart for the specific suit.
Open guideA 3 mm, 5 mm or 7 mm label describes neoprene thickness; it does not by itself establish the conditions that will be comfortable for every diver. Compare coverage, lining, seams and seals on the exact model, along with your planned activity and sensitivity to cold.
Semi-dry wetsuits use effective seals, particularly at the wrists and ankles, to reduce water entering and leaving the suit. With the correct fit, these seals minimise flushing, helping retain water your body has already warmed. The neoprene provides insulation, while reduced water exchange helps limit heat loss. A waterproof dry main zip is an additional sealing feature, not a requirement shared by every semi-dry design. Compare the neck seal, seams and zip as well as the cuffs. Our semi-dry wetsuit collection currently includes dry-zip designs such as the Waterproof SD Neoflex and Aqualung Iceland. Brands use the term differently, so check the exact model’s construction. A semi-dry wetsuit can still admit water and is not a drysuit.
Measure in centimetres and use the manufacturer’s chart for the specific suit. Check comfortable breathing and movement as well as the neck, wrists and ankles. Everyday clothing size is only a starting point.
