Apeks EXOTEC-S BCD

The Apeks EXOTEC-S – Dive BCD provides exceptional comfort both in and out of the water. With an articulated backplate that pivots at the waist and works with your body, you’ll experience more freedom of movement, maximizing comfort during your dive. A perfect fit can be customizable across all sizes, resulting in less drag and increased energy efficiency.

The ethos behind Exotec is the synthesis of equipment and diver. It is designed to fit like no other BCD and flow with the natural movement of the diver’s body through the innovative BioReact articulation.

Apeks EXOTEC-S BCD Features

• BioReact articulating waist system for maximum comfort and freedom of movement.
• GripTek fabric keeps the BCD in place both on the surface and underwater

• Wrapture Harness System – Using patented swivel shoulder buckles and a proprietary, ultra-thin backplate, the Wrapture provides unsurpassed comfort and stability. Wrapture prevents the BC from “riding up” on the surface. Out of the water, the Wrapture keeps the cylinder close to your centre of gravity and transfers the weight to your hips. The result is the ability to stand up straight with a perfectly vertical cylinder.

• SureLock II Mechanical Weight Release System (patented) – provides a safe, single-pull release. Inserting the weight pocket is as simple as inserting and “click”. Once engaged, the only way to release the weight is to pull on the handle. With SureLock, your weights are secure in the BC.

Apeks XTX200 Regulator Features

The Apeks XTX200 + XTX40 Regulator Setup Din is a definitive blend of style and high performance. Every detail has been meticulously designed to deliver a regulator of the highest quality.

It features an innovative Diver Changeable Exhaust system (DCE) that allows divers to switch between a small and a large exhaust tee. This gives users a choice: a wider tee for minimal bubble interference, ideal for underwater photography, or a narrower tee for a compact and comfortable regulator. The regulator comes with both sets of exhaust tees.

An optional 5th port is available, which includes an integrated heat exchanger. This is available on the Tungsten, XTX200 and XTX100 first stages. It can be converted from a right-handed hose configuration to a left-handed one. The process is quick and simple but must only be performed by an APEKS-authorised service technician.

The regulator is available in yoke or DIN configuration. Braided flexi-hoses are now standard on all models. These lighter, more flexible and more durable hoses are suitable for coldwater use (below 10°C / 50°F). They are compatible with EAN40 out of the box.

First Stage:

• FSR style first stage.
• Highly polished bright chrome plating.

• Removable ARCAP valve seat.
• Unique over-balanced, diaphragm design – as the diver descends, the over-balancing feature allows the medium pressure gas in the hose to increase at a rate faster than ambient. This results in superior performance at depth.
• An environmental dry system keeps water out of the main spring chamber, thus preventing ice buildup and keeping silt and contamination out.

Second Stage

• The pneumatically balanced second stage results in smooth, easy breathing.
• The XTX purge buttons are large and easy to operate. A 2-stage progressive purge is used – press the purge on the side for a lower flow rate, useful where more control is required such as filling lift bags etc, then press in the centre for the full effect of the purge, i.e. when regulator clearing etc.
• The large venturi lever has a soft touch rubber grip, which makes it easier to locate and use. The lever reduces the amount of grit ingress and therefore resists any possible friction giving a smooth operation.
• Easy-to-grip opening effort control knob keeps the diver in control.
• The second stage is manufactured with active protection against infection as all molded parts are produced with an additive that kills MRSA, protects against E-Coli, bacteria and fungi, and is also very effective against viruses, mould, yeast and algae.
• A silicone exhaust valve improves the regulator’s breathing performance.
• The Comfo-bite™ mouthpiece virtually eliminates jaw fatigue.
• A heat exchanger (patented) which surrounds the valve mechanism, dissipates the cold caused by gas expansion while drawing in the warmth of the ambient water.

Apeks Pressure Gauge

The Apeks submersible pressure (contents) gauge, with an internal Bourdon pressure measuring mechanism, gives you clear information on the gas contents of your cylinder. The gauge indicates the cylinder bottle pressure, and the dial range is from 0 to 360 bar. The dial face is designed with clarity in mind by being uncluttered, with large black figures on a luminous background giving a long phosphorescent effect. This makes viewing as easy as possible, even in poor visibility conditions.

Apeks Pressure Gauge Features:

• The gauge case is made from nickel-plated brass
• The dial window is made of highly shock-resistant material (anti-splinter polycarbonate)
• A specially designed housing protects the gauge and HP hose fitting from accidental damage
• A large loop area designed into the housing allows for easy attachment.
• There is an over-pressure capsule fitted in the back of the module to prevent the screen from exploding in the unlikely event of the internal mechanism failing.
