Size and fit

Approximate age guide: 4–10 years. This is a guide only, not a fit guarantee. Face width and shape vary between children of the same age. A flexible silicone skirt allows some fit variation, but the mask must sit comfortably and seal against the individual face. Choose the fins by foot size as well as checking mask fit.

Keep hair clear of the mask skirt and check for even contact around the face without pressure on the nose. The strap should hold the mask comfortably without overtightening. The child should be able to close their lips around the mouthpiece and hold it gently without stretching their mouth or biting hard.

Bondi junior fin size guide

The 9–13 range is the smaller junior size; 1–4 is the next, larger range. These are shoe-size guides, not ages. Select from the sizes offered on this product page.

Measure both bare feet from heel to longest toe and use the longer measurement. Place the heel against a wall on a sheet of paper and mark the longest toe with the pencil upright. A measured foot length helps with fitting advice, but do not convert it to a fin size using an unrelated model’s chart.

Fin fit varies with foot shape. Lycra or 3 mm neoprene socks can help reduce rubbing; allow for their thickness when choosing the size. The foot pocket should feel secure without pinching or letting the foot slide around.

Practise fitting, surface breathing and clearing the snorkel in calm, shallow water with active adult supervision. Snorkels provide air only with the top above the surface; they are not underwater air supplies or swimming aids.

Care and storage

Rinse thoroughly in fresh water after use, removing sand from the buckles and snorkel top. Check the skirt, strap, mouthpiece and purge valve before the next swim. Let the equipment dry in the shade before storage and avoid leaving it in a hot car. Use a suitable mask anti-fog treatment as directed; avoid abrasive cleaners, toothpaste and flame treatments.

Rinse the fins and heel straps too, then store them without bending the blades.
