How to measure your BCD
- Waist: measure at the waistline shown in the diagram, rather than using the size on your jeans. Keep the tape level.
- Over the shoulder (OTS): run the tape from your waistline at the back, over one shoulder, to your waistline at the front.
- Check the BCD over the exposure suit and layers you will dive in. Adjust the shoulder and waist straps, then check that you can breathe and move comfortably with the BCD inflated.
- Use the chart for the exact BCD model. Height and weight are guides; waist and harness fit also matter.

Apeks EXOTEC-S – BCD Grey
Move more freely with a BCD that follows your body. The Exotec-S pairs its pivoting BioReact waist with an adjustable backplate and harness, helping you bend, turn and settle into your diving position without the waist section feeling fixed in place.
Support that moves with you
The Wrapture harness and BioReact waist work together to support the cylinder while allowing the lower section to move. GripTek contact fabric helps hold the adjusted BCD against the exposure suit, and the fold-flat pockets provide storage without a permanently bulky pocket profile.
Features and benefits
- BioReact movement. The waist articulation lets the BCD follow your movement when bending or turning.
- Support close to the body. The Wrapture harness holds the cylinder close and helps distribute its load through the harness.
- Accessible weight handling. The SureLock II system keeps removable ballast within reach for loading and release.
- Useful storage. Expandable side pockets fold flat when empty, keeping everyday accessory storage close to hand.
- Water-shedding outer. Armoguard slick-skin fabric reduces water absorption and makes rinsing the outer surface straightforward.
- G-hook chest fastening. Open or close the chest connection with one hand when fitting the BCD.
- GripTek contact fabric. The contact surface helps the BCD stay in position against your exposure suit.
- Dedicated equipment sleeves. Keep the pressure gauge and alternate air source in their designated storage areas instead of adding separate clips.
Fit and configuration
Unisex fit. Select the appropriate harness or BCD size and adjust it with your usual exposure suit. Fit details: Height-adjustable backplate with adjustable shoulder and waist sections. An optional crotch strap is available separately. Match lift and ballast capacity to the selected size and complete cylinder setup; these are separate from the BCD’s own dry weight.
