Rob Allen Timberline Roller Speargun 80–130 cm
The Rob Allen Timberline Roller combines a carbon barrel and mahogany sleeve with a roller muzzle, 16 mm rubber and a 7.5 mm spring-steel shaft. The timber adds mass and buoyancy to the rigid carbon barrel, helping the gun settle in the water and manage recoil. Choose from 80, 90, 100, 110, 120 and 130 cm lengths.
A shaped barrel for easier tracking
The cuttlebone-shaped mahogany sleeve keeps the barrel’s vertical profile low, helping you move the gun through the water as you line up a shot. Each Timberline is balanced in a seawater tank for its supplied setup. A Danish-oil finish preserves the natural feel of the timber.
Roller muzzle and Vecta 2 controls
Four ceramic bearings support smooth roller movement. Stainless-steel loading hooks provide two band attachment settings. The Vecta 2 handle has an integrated loading butt and a sear-activated stainless-steel line release.
Shaft, shooting line and reel included
- 16 mm roller rubber paired with a 7.5 mm double-notch spring-steel shaft.
- Dyneema shooting line, selected to help reduce line wrap around the roller muzzle.
- Gun bungee with snap clip.
- A low-profile Vecta 40 reel supplied with 40 m of AntLine.
The shooting line connects to the shaft, while the separate reel line pays out from the reel. This gives you a complete reel-equipped Timberline setup with clearly defined rigging.
Choosing your length
Consider your reach, loading ability and the space in which you normally dive. A shorter gun is easier to handle in confined reef areas, while a longer model suits divers comfortable managing more barrel length in open water.
Care, rinsing and storage
After each dive, rinse the unloaded gun with fresh water, paying attention to the roller head, handle, line release and reel. Let it dry out of direct sunlight before storage. Check the rubber, wishbones, shaft, lines and clips for wear before use, and keep the rubbers away from heat and prolonged sunlight. Follow Rob Allen’s care instructions for the timber finish and moving parts.
