Ocean Hunter Redback Railgun Speargun 80–120 cm
The Ocean Hunter Redback is a straightforward railgun for reef and coastal spearfishing, with an aluminium barrel, an integrated shaft rail and a comfortable loading butt. It comes with a 7 mm marine-grade stainless-steel shaft, a single 16 mm powerband with a Dyneema bridle, and the shooting line and clips needed to connect to your float setup.
Supported shaft and durable controls
The barrel’s integrated rail supports the shaft along the gun, helping keep it aligned. A glass-reinforced nylon handle houses stainless-steel trigger components and a stainless-steel line release. The loading butt provides a broader contact point when bringing the band back to the shaft.
Single-band setup with room to adapt
The supplied 16 mm band keeps loading simple, while its Dyneema bridle connects to the shaft. The closed double-band muzzle can accommodate a second compatible band if you later change your setup. The gun is supplied with one band; additional bands are sold separately.
Shaft and float-line connections
- 7 mm marine-grade stainless-steel shaft with a tri-cut tip.
- Single wrap of 400 lb monofilament shooting line with crimps.
- Ocean Hunter gun bungee with swivel clip.
- Shark clip with swivel on the handle for attaching a float line.
The shaft is uncoated. Rinsing and drying it after use helps keep it in good condition, including around the tip and loading notches.
Choose your gun length
Available in 80, 90, 100, 110 and 120 cm lengths. Consider your reach, loading ability and usual diving conditions: shorter guns are easier to manoeuvre around reef structure, while longer models give you more barrel length for open-water use.
Care, rinsing and storage
Rinse the unloaded gun with fresh water after every dive, including the handle, muzzle, shaft and line release. Allow it to dry in the shade before storage. Keep the rubbers away from heat and direct sunlight, and check the band, bridle, line, crimps and clips for wear before your next outing. Follow Ocean Hunter’s handling and maintenance instructions.

Contact us within 30 days of delivery to request a refund, exchange or optional store credit on eligible unused goods within Australia. Refunds go to the original payment method. Keep goods clean and undamaged with tags, original packaging and all accessories. No restocking fee applies to eligible returns meeting these conditions.
For change-of-mind returns and size exchanges, you pay return postage and replacement shipping. Original delivery charges are not refunded. Water-tested goods, clearly marked clearance items and genuinely custom-made or personalised items are excluded from change-of-mind returns. Ordinary discounted goods remain eligible.
