Aqualung Pro HD Compact Travel BC
Make more room in your dive bag with the Pro HD Compact. Its flexible cylinder-support system packs flat or rolls for transport, while padded contact areas and integrated weights keep it useful for the diving you do after the flight.
Features and benefits
- Harness support. Padding at the shoulders, spine and lumbar area cushions the harness contact points. Adjust the straps over your exposure suit to hold the cylinder securely while leaving your shoulders free to move.
- Accessible weight handling. The SureLock II pockets use a mechanical locking connection to secure removable ballast. Check that each pocket is fully engaged after loading and keep the release handles unobstructed.
- Easier packing. The flexible cylinder-support system replaces a rigid backpack, allowing the BCD to pack flat or roll for travel. Unpack it without tight creases and recheck the cylinder attachment before use.
- Useful storage. Storage includes fold-down pocket. Keep accessories together in the available pockets.
- Equipment attachment. D-ring layout: 6. The attachment points give clipped accessories a consistent, reachable position and help prevent loose gear from trailing below you.
Fit and configuration
Select the appropriate size or harness adjustment for your body and exposure suit. Fit details: Sliding/removable chest strap. Choose enough lift for your complete cylinder and equipment configuration. Lift capacity, ballast-pocket capacity and the BCD’s dry weight describe different things; use the size-specific values in Technical Specs when comparing options.
Care, rinsing and storage
After every dive, rinse the BCD, harness, buckles and accessible fittings with fresh water, paying attention to salt and sand around the inflator, dump valves and weight-pocket releases. Follow the Aqualung manual’s procedure for the fitted inflation system, including keeping the power inflator pressurised where specified.
Dive Gear Australia recommends Gear Aid Revivex BC Cleaner 10 oz for cleaning the outer surfaces and internal air cell. It helps remove salt, chlorine and residue while conditioning suitable rubber and plastic parts. Use the dilution on the cleaner’s label and follow the equipment manual.
Rinse the air cell internally through the opening specified in the manual, using fresh water and the recommended cleaner dilution when needed. Gently rotate the equipment to reach the inside surfaces, drain through the specified outlet, then rinse until the water runs clear. Drain thoroughly before drying.
Allow the BCD to dry in the shade, then store it slightly inflated in a cool, dry place without tight folds or heavy gear on top. Before diving, check that it holds air and that inflation controls, dump valves, straps and weight releases work correctly. Follow the manufacturer’s service schedule and have leaks, sticking controls or damage checked by an authorised technician.
