OceanPro Corsair II BCD
The Corsair II combines an open back-inflation layout with padded support and swivel shoulder buckles. Integrated weight pockets and rear trim pockets let you organise ballast around the BCD, making it a practical option for local diving and trips away.
Comfort through adjustment
The Corsair II combines padded back support with swivel shoulder buckles and a depth-compensating cummerbund. These features help the harness follow your torso and exposure suit, while separate rear trim pockets provide another position for distributing ballast.
Features and benefits
- Harness support. The padded back panel cushions the cylinder load against your body. Set the harness over your usual exposure suit so the cylinder stays secure while your shoulders and chest can move comfortably.
- Accessible weight handling. Secure Snap-Lock pockets retain the integrated weights and provide quick-release access when needed. Check each pocket is locked after loading and keep the release handles clear.
- Trim-weight positioning. The trim pockets let you place part of your ballast near the cylinder to help adjust your position in the water. Keep the distinction between trim ballast and the system’s ditchable weights clear.
- Swivel shoulder buckles. The shoulder buckles can change angle as the straps settle around your body, helping the webbing lie more naturally across your shoulders.
- Depth-compensating waist fit. The cummerbund can accommodate changes in exposure-suit thickness during the dive, helping maintain contact around your waist as the suit compresses.
- Multiple deflation points. Shoulder dumps and the lower rear dump provide options for releasing air according to your position.
Fit and configuration
Select the appropriate size or harness adjustment for your body and exposure suit. Fit details: Depth-compensating cummerbund and waist buckle. Choose enough lift for your complete cylinder and equipment configuration. Lift capacity, ballast-pocket capacity and the BCD’s dry weight describe different things; use the size-specific values in Technical Specs when comparing options.
Care, rinsing and storage
After every dive, rinse the BCD, harness, buckles and accessible fittings with fresh water, paying attention to salt and sand around the inflator, dump valves and weight-pocket releases. Follow the OceanPro manual’s procedure for the fitted inflation system, including keeping the power inflator pressurised where specified.
Dive Gear Australia recommends Gear Aid Revivex BC Cleaner 10 oz for cleaning the outer surfaces and internal air cell. It helps remove salt, chlorine and residue while conditioning suitable rubber and plastic parts. Use the dilution on the cleaner’s label and follow the equipment manual.
Rinse the air cell internally through the opening specified in the manual, using fresh water and the recommended cleaner dilution when needed. Gently rotate the equipment to reach the inside surfaces, drain through the specified outlet, then rinse until the water runs clear. Drain thoroughly before drying.
Allow the BCD to dry in the shade, then store it slightly inflated in a cool, dry place without tight folds or heavy gear on top. Before diving, check that it holds air and that inflation controls, dump valves, straps and weight releases work correctly. Follow the manufacturer’s service schedule and have leaks, sticking controls or damage checked by an authorised technician.
