The Oceanic ZEO + FDXi puts breathing control and mouthpiece comfort at the centre of your scuba setup. Its adjustable, pneumatically balanced second stage includes an in-line hose swivel, while the compact sealed FDXi first stage provides flexible hose routing. It is a strong choice for divers who want to refine the feel of their regulator and reduce hose pull at the jaw.
Features and benefits
Fine-tune your breathing
The inhalation-effort control lets you adjust breathing resistance, and the pneumatically balanced valve helps keep the feel consistent as cylinder pressure changes. Dynamic Adjustment Technology helps maintain the selected inhalation setting throughout the dive.
A swivel that moves with you
The supplied in-line ball swivel lets the hose move at the second-stage connection as you turn your head. This reduces binding and hose pull on the mouthpiece, helping make longer dives more comfortable. The orthodontic mouthpiece has bite tabs for a secure, relaxed hold.
A metal valve for heat and moisture exchange
The chrome-plated marine-brass valve housing conducts heat and encourages moisture from exhaled breath to condense. Some of that moisture can return with the inhaled airflow, helping reduce the dry-mouth feeling that can accompany cylinder gas. The metal construction also supports heat exchange in cooler water.
Compact, environmentally sealed FDXi first stage
The cold-forged, over-balanced diaphragm first stage has an in-line layout and angled ports to help route hoses neatly around your shoulders. Its environmental seal helps protect the mechanism from water and contaminants. Four low-pressure ports and two high-pressure ports accommodate the usual primary, alternate-air and pressure-monitoring connections.
Simple dive and pre-dive adjustment
The Adjustable Venturi Switch changes airflow assistance. Select pre-dive while the regulator is out of your mouth to help limit unwanted free-flow, then use the dive setting for normal breathing as described in the manual.
DIN or yoke, in Black
This listing is for the Black ZEO + FDXi. Choose DIN for a compatible threaded cylinder valve or Yoke for a compatible clamp-style connection. Check the connection and pressure rating against the cylinders you use before ordering.
The regulator supports air and nitrox mixtures up to 40% oxygen in its specified Australian configuration. Appropriate nitrox training, suitable gas quality and the manual’s oxygen-cleanliness requirements still apply.
What’s included
- One FDXi first stage with your chosen DIN or yoke connection.
- One Black ZEO second stage with an in-line swivel connection.
- One braided low-pressure regulator hose.
An octopus, pressure gauge or transmitter and BCD inflator hose are separate items. For another adjustable Oceanic option in Black or White, see the DELTA 5 + eDX regulator.
Care, rinsing and storage
After diving, clean the complete assembled regulator while it is connected to a secured cylinder and pressurised. Fully submerge the stages and connected hoses in fresh water, keeping pressure on throughout washing and rinsing. This helps prevent water entering the internal air passages, where it can cause corrosion.
For routine cleaning, Dive Gear Australia recommends Cressi Neoclean 500 mL or Revivex Wetsuit Shampoo 10 oz, diluted according to the label and thoroughly rinsed away with fresh water. Dedicated oxygen-clean equipment requires its manufacturer’s oxygen-service cleaning procedure.
Lift the regulator out of the water and dry the first-stage connection before depressurising and disconnecting. Fit a clean, dry dust cap, dry the regulator in the shade and store the hoses in loose curves.
Inspect the mouthpiece, hoses and connections before each dive. Arrange an annual inspection by an authorised Oceanic technician and servicing as needed or every two years, whichever comes first. More than 100 dives a year, rental use, extended storage, leaks or changed breathing performance require earlier attention as described in the manual. Internal adjustments and repairs are work for an authorised technician.
