Mares Pirate Junior mask and snorkel set
The Mares Pirate Junior pairs a compact twin-lens mask with a semi-dry snorkel for children learning to explore at the surface. Its soft silicone skirt, adjustable silicone strap and flexible snorkel section give you several ways to fine-tune the fit before heading into the water.
What is included?
One Pirate Junior mask and one junior semi-dry snorkel. Fins are not included. Choose an available colour using the product options.
Mask fit and approximate age guide
The Pirate Junior is a smaller mask for junior snorkellers. Approximately 4–10 years is a guide only; individual fit varies. Children of the same age can have very different face widths and shapes. The silicone skirt needs to sit evenly around the face without resting on hair, pressing on the nose or leaving gaps.
Hold the mask gently against the face and check the fit before tightening the strap. Use only enough strap tension to keep it in place. The snorkel mouthpiece should sit comfortably without the child needing to clench their teeth. Practise fitting, removal and clearing in shallow water with close adult supervision.

- Low-volume frame: keeps the internal space relatively small, so there is less water to clear if the mask floods.
- Soft silicone skirt: forms a flexible contact surface around the face; a good seal still depends on the individual fit.
- 360° EZ Adjust buckles: let the strap attachment move into a comfortable position while micro-adjustment helps fine-tune strap tension.
- Silicone mask strap: spreads support around the back of the head without needing excessive tension.
- Semi-dry splash guard: helps deflect surface splashes. It does not close when submerged, so the snorkel can still fill with water.
- Flexible snorkel section and silicone mouthpiece: help position the mouthpiece comfortably instead of pulling against the mouth.
- Lower purge valve and sliding keeper: provide a low outlet for clearing water and let you adjust the snorkel’s position on the mask strap.

Buying a set or a gift?
If you also need fins, compare the Mares Nateeva Junior snorkelling set. Ask the parent about the child’s face fit and current foot size before buying a complete pack. Age alone cannot confirm either fit.
This snorkel is for breathing at the surface with the top above water; it does not supply air underwater. Children need close adult supervision.
Care and storage
Compatible cleaning products
For standard uncoated mask glass, TUSA TEC52 anti-fog treatment is an option when permitted by the mask and treatment instructions. For a separate neoprene strap cover, if you use one, we recommend Cressi Neoclean Wetsuit Wash or Revivex Wetsuit Shampoo to clean compatible neoprene. Wash that component separately according to its care label and the cleaner’s dilution instructions, then rinse thoroughly and dry in the shade. These neoprene cleaners are not a recommendation for the mask lens or a regulator assembly.
Rinse the gear in fresh water after use and let it dry in the shade before storing it away from heat and direct sunlight. Check straps, buckles and sealing surfaces before each outing. Handle mask lenses gently and avoid abrasive cleaners or flame treatment.

Contact us within 30 days of delivery to request a refund, exchange or optional store credit on eligible unused goods within Australia. Refunds go to the original payment method. Keep goods clean and undamaged with tags, original packaging and all accessories. No restocking fee applies to eligible returns meeting these conditions.
For change-of-mind returns and size exchanges, you pay return postage and replacement shipping. Original delivery charges are not refunded. Water-tested goods, clearly marked clearance items and genuinely custom-made or personalised items are excluded from change-of-mind returns. Ordinary discounted goods remain eligible.
