Atomic Aquatics BC2 BCD with Ai Stainless Steel Power Inflator
The Atomic BC2 combines rear inflation with considered details for carrying and securing your equipment. Its CAM-LOK ratchet cylinder band and EZ-LOK weight pockets simplify two of the most frequent parts of setting up a BCD, while the adjustable padded back supports the cylinder.
This package combines the required components listed below, with the available options allowing you to choose the final configuration.
Why choose the Ai package?
This configuration supplies the BC2 with Atomic’s stainless steel Ai power inflator. It is the option for a conventional inflation setup, with the alternate breathing source selected as part of your regulator system. The required components are listed below so you can see exactly which version you are choosing.
Features and benefits
- Accessible weight handling. The EZ-LOK pockets slide into their mounts and lock in place, giving a clear engagement point when loading ballast. The release handles keep removable weights accessible when needed.
- CAM-LOK ratchet band. The ratcheting CAM-LOK band adjusts around the cylinder without repeatedly threading a conventional buckle. Its coated band sheds water, making cylinder changes and post-dive handling more straightforward.
- Useful storage. Storage includes sand-resistant zipped pockets. Keep accessories together in the available pockets.
- Equipment attachment. D-ring layout: Titanium-PVD-coated 316 stainless steel. The attachment points give clipped accessories a consistent, reachable position and help prevent loose gear from trailing below you.
- Durable construction. The double-laminated polyurethane-coated fabric provides a tough, water-shedding outer surface, helping resist everyday wear and reducing retained water after rinsing.
- Adjustable lumbar support. The quilted backpad cushions the cylinder load, while the movable lumbar support lets you position the padding where it best supports your lower back.
- Ai stainless steel inflator. The Ai unit provides the power-inflation and oral-inflation controls in a stainless steel assembly. Its controls stay together at the BCD hose for straightforward buoyancy adjustments.
- Separate alternate-air choice. The Ai inflator is a power inflator, so choose the alternate breathing source required for your regulator configuration.
- Dry Glide dump valves. The low-friction stainless steel pull-dump components provide additional venting controls. Keep the pulls reachable and check that each valve vents and reseals before use.
- Rear trim pockets. Rear pockets let you position part of your ballast near the cylinder to refine trim. Treat these separately from the quick-release weights when planning your ballast arrangement.
Fit and configuration
Select the appropriate size or harness adjustment for your body and exposure suit. Choose enough lift for your complete cylinder and equipment configuration. Lift capacity, ballast-pocket capacity and the BCD’s dry weight describe different things; use the size-specific values in Technical Specs when comparing options.

Care, rinsing and storage
After every dive, rinse the BCD, harness, buckles and accessible fittings with fresh water, paying attention to salt and sand around the inflator, dump valves and weight-pocket releases. Follow the Atomic manual’s procedure for the fitted inflation system, including keeping the power inflator pressurised where specified.
Dive Gear Australia recommends Gear Aid Revivex BC Cleaner 10 oz for cleaning the outer surfaces and internal air cell. It helps remove salt, chlorine and residue while conditioning suitable rubber and plastic parts. Use the dilution on the cleaner’s label and follow the equipment manual.
Rinse the air cell internally through the opening specified in the manual, using fresh water and the recommended cleaner dilution when needed. Gently rotate the equipment to reach the inside surfaces, drain through the specified outlet, then rinse until the water runs clear. Drain thoroughly before drying.
Allow the BCD to dry in the shade, then store it slightly inflated in a cool, dry place without tight folds or heavy gear on top. Before diving, check that it holds air and that inflation controls, dump valves, straps and weight releases work correctly. Follow the manufacturer’s service schedule and have leaks, sticking controls or damage checked by an authorised technician.
Care for each regulator and other package component according to its own manual. Wash an assembled scuba regulator while connected to a secured cylinder and pressurised; keep pressure on until it is out of the water and its first-stage connection is dry. Use the dedicated regulator-care guidance for breathing components.
