The XTX200 combines an over-balanced first stage with an adjustable, pneumatically balanced second stage. It offers a practical blend of breathing control and configuration choice, with environmental sealing and reversible second-stage hose routing for a setup tailored to your equipment.
Features and benefits
- Balanced gas delivery. The over-balanced diaphragm mechanism helps manage the supply to the second stage as diving conditions change.
- Balanced second stage. The balanced valve helps maintain a consistent inhalation response.
- Adjustable breathing feel. The inhalation-effort control lets you tune the adjustable second stage within its operating range.
- Venturi control. Select the appropriate setting for surface handling or diving to help manage free-flow tendency.
- Environmental protection. The sealed first-stage chamber helps keep water and contaminants away from its working mechanism.
- Comfortable mouthpiece hold. The Comfo-Bite palate bridge helps support the second stage without a hard bite.
- Progressive purge. Control the purge response with the amount of pressure applied to the button.
Setup and compatibility
Connection: DIN. Choose the fitting that matches your cylinder valve and its pressure rating. A fifth-port upgrade is optional and sold separately unless expressly included in your selected configuration.
The XTX40 octopus has Venturi control; the separate inhalation-effort adjustment belongs to the primary XTX200 or XTX50 second stage in the set.

Additional specifications
- The XTX40 Octopus provides the same features and performance as the XTX40 second stage and includes left /right-hand reversibility. It comes with a high-visibility yellow front cover and a 36” yellow hose. It is suitable for cold water use (below 10 C / 50 F).
First Stage
- 4 angled medium pressure ports, 4 x 3/8” UNF.
- 2 angled high-pressure ports, 2 x 7/16” UNF.
- Optional 5th port.
- Unique over-balanced diaphragm design—as the diver descends, the over-balancing feature allows the medium-pressure gas in the hose to increase faster than ambient. This results in superior performance at depth.
Second Stage
- The pneumatically balanced second stage results in smooth, easy breathing.
- The large venturi lever has a soft touch rubber grip, which makes it easier to locate and use. The lever reduces the amount of grit ingress and therefore resists any possible friction giving a smooth operation.
- A silicone exhaust valve improves the regulator's breathing performance.
Apeks XTX40 Occy Features
- Can be converted from a right-handed hose configuration to a left handed one. The process of changing the regulator to a left-handed configuration is both quick and simple. However, an APEKS Authorised Service Technician must ONLY perform this procedure.
- Compatible with EAN40 out of the box.
