Use and configuration
Choose guideline equipment for your training and dive plan. Cave and wreck penetration require appropriate overhead-environment training and procedures; carrying a reel does not provide that qualification. Inspect the line, locking screw and attachment before diving, and keep loose line clear of yourself and your equipment.
Care and storage
Rinse with fresh water after diving, removing salt and grit from the line, moving parts and attachment hardware. Allow everything to dry in the shade before storage. Check the line for cuts, fraying and worn connections, and check that the spool or reel moves freely before each dive.
