How to measure your BCD

Aqualung waist and over-the-shoulder measurement points — Open full-size measuring guide

Waist: measure at the waistline shown in the diagram, rather than using the size on your jeans. Keep the tape level.
Over the shoulder (OTS): run the tape from your waistline at the back, over one shoulder, to your waistline at the front.
Check the BCD over the exposure suit and layers you will dive in. Adjust the shoulder and waist straps, then check that you can breathe and move comfortably with the BCD inflated.
Use the chart for the exact BCD model. Height and weight are guides; waist and harness fit also matter.

If you are between sizes, contact Dive Gear Australia with your height, weight, waist and shoulder measurements, plus the suit you plan to wear.

Apeks EXOTEC BCD Orange

The Exotec brings movement and adjustment together in a supportive BCD. Its BioReact waist pivots with your body, while the Wrapture harness and adjustable backplate let you position the system around your torso and exposure suit.

Features and benefits

BioReact movement. The waist articulation lets the BCD follow your movement when bending or turning.
Support close to the body. The Wrapture harness holds the cylinder close and helps distribute its load through the harness.
Accessible weight handling. The SureLock II system keeps removable ballast within reach for loading and release.
Useful storage. Two pockets fold flat when empty and open out for small accessories.
Water-shedding outer. Armoguard slick-skin fabric reduces water absorption and makes rinsing the outer surface straightforward.

Fit and configuration

Unisex fit. Select the appropriate harness or BCD size and adjust it with your usual exposure suit. Fit details: Three-position height-adjustable backplate; adjustable waist and shoulders. An optional crotch strap is available separately. Match lift and ballast capacity to the selected size and complete cylinder setup; these are separate from the BCD’s own dry weight.
