Rob Allen Sparid EVO Railgun 90–140 cm
The Rob Allen Sparid EVO pairs an aluminium rail barrel with twin 14 mm rubbers and a 7 mm spring-steel shaft. It is a practical choice for reef spearfishing, with a closed muzzle, comfortable Vecta2 handle and loading butt. The grey Ghost camouflage barrel and black handle give the EVO its distinctive finish.
Twin 14 mm rubbers and a 7 mm shaft
Two black Rob Allen 14 mm powerbands are fitted with Dyneema bridles. Each rubber loads separately, while the cord bridles fit the shaft’s two smooth loading notches. The supplied shaft is made from heat-treated spring steel with a zinc coating for corrosion resistance. It has a tri-cut tip and a reinforced barb, and each shaft is checked and tuned by hand.
Aluminium barrel with an integrated rail
The heavy-duty aluminium barrel incorporates a rail that supports the shaft along the gun. This keeps the barrel and guide in one rigid assembly while retaining a slim profile for moving the gun through the water. The available 90, 100, 110, 120, 130 and 140 cm sizes let you choose the length that suits your diving conditions and handling preference.
Closed muzzle and Vecta2 handle
The low-profile, glass-filled nylon muzzle accommodates both rubbers and helps locate the shaft during reloading. Its band attachment allows rubber replacement without tools. The Vecta2 handle uses generation 9 internals, a Kevlar-reinforced trigger and an active stainless-steel line release. A soft-touch grip and rear loading butt add comfort when handling and loading the gun.
Heavy-duty shooting line and bungee
The EVO is rigged with 1.8 mm, 450 lb monofilament shooting line and a gun bungee with a snap clip. The bungee adds give to the rigging, while the clip makes disconnecting the shooting line more convenient when removing the shaft or servicing the setup.
Care, rinsing and storage
Rinse the unloaded gun with fresh water after each dive, including the muzzle, line release, handle, shaft and barb. Let it dry in the shade before storage, keeping the rubbers away from heat and direct sunlight. Check the rubbers, Dyneema bridles, loading notches, mono, crimps and bungee for wear before use. Pay attention to any damage to the shaft coating, and follow Rob Allen’s maintenance instructions.
