This is the factory-second version of the Ocean Hunter Expedition PVC Floatline 25m.
The Ocean Hunter Expedition PVC Floatline 25m combines a flexible blue outer tube with a Dyneema core for a practical spearfishing float setup. Its supplied speed needle and fish stringer give you the catch-handling hardware as well as the line.
Features and benefits
- UV-stabilised PVC outer: The tubing surrounds the core and is designed to resist the effects of sunlight, helping the line cope with regular use on the water.
- Dyneema core: The inner line provides the tensile strength while the PVC tube gives the floatline its smooth outer surface.
- Slight stretch: A small amount of give helps moderate sudden pulls from the float, reducing abrupt shock through the setup.
- Blue tubing: The coloured outer helps you follow the line at the surface.
- Included speed needle and stringer: The rigid stainless-steel needle helps with threading your catch, while the supplied fish stringer gives you a way to keep it together.
Choosing and using your floatline
Allow enough line for your planned depth, current and movement between you and the float. Check the end connections and compatible attachment points before entering the water, and keep loose line clear of your body and equipment. The listed core rating is not a safe working-load rating for the assembled line. Use it with a suitable float and flag for your setup.
Care, washing and storage
Rinse the line, needle, stringer and end fittings thoroughly in fresh water after use. Remove salt, sand and fish residue, then let everything dry in the shade. Check the PVC for cuts or severe kinks, and inspect the end connections, line and hardware before each outing. Coil loosely for storage in a cool, dry place away from direct heat and sunlight.
Dive Gear Australia recommends Cressi Neoclean Wetsuit Wash or Revivex Wetsuit Shampoo for routine cleaning, diluted according to the label and thoroughly rinsed away. Regular cleaning, drying and proper storage help extend gear life.
