Make every dive more comfortable with the HQ Diving Neoprene Mask Strap, a soft and practical mask strap cover designed to reduce hair pulling, improve comfort and make your dive mask easier to put on and remove.
Often called a mask strap tamer, this neoprene cover fits over the existing silicone strap on compatible diving and snorkelling masks. The smooth neoprene surface slides easily over wet or dry hair, helping prevent tangles and uncomfortable snagging—particularly useful for divers with longer hair.
The wider neoprene design also helps spread pressure more evenly across the back of the head, providing a more comfortable and secure feel during scuba diving, snorkelling and freediving.
For new divers completing a scuba diving course, a neoprene mask strap cover can also make mask removal and replacement drills easier by allowing the strap to slide smoothly into position without catching in the hair.
Available in a range of eye-catching designs, these colourful straps can also make your mask easier to identify amongst other dive gear and more visible around the boat or dive site.
Fitting the cover
The hook-and-loop closure opens for fitting over a compatible existing strap. Check that both mask buckles still adjust freely. Choose the design you prefer from the available options. The cover supports the strap; the mask skirt still needs to fit your face.
Care, rinsing and storage
Rinse the cover and strap in fresh water after use and clear sand from the closure and buckle area. Dry the neoprene fully in the shade before packing. Check stitching and attachment points for wear and avoid overtightening the mask strap.
