Cressi MC9 Compact + Octopus Regulator Set
The Cressi MC9 Compact keeps a warm-water regulator small and easy to pack. Its diaphragm first stage supplies the 135 g Compact second stage, making it a useful option when you want less bulk at your mouth without adding complicated controls.
Features and benefits
- Diaphragm first stage. The hyper-balanced mechanism manages the intermediate-pressure supply as conditions change, helping the second stage receive a steady supply of gas.
- Small second stage. The compact body reduces bulk at your mouth and is easy to pack. A large front purge button remains easy to find by touch.
- Dive/pre-dive control. The Venturi lever changes how the air stream assists inhalation. Use the pre-dive position during surface handling and while an alternate second stage is stowed, then the dive position when breathing from it, following the manual.
- Room for your instruments. Two high-pressure ports and four low-pressure ports provide separate connection points for compatible gauges, second stages and inflator hoses.
- Protected first-stage body. The metal finish and external bumper help protect the regulator during ordinary handling. The standard MC9 remains a warm-water model.
Setup and compatibility
Choose the DIN or yoke option to match your cylinder valve and pressure rating. Have the complete regulator assembly configured and checked by a qualified technician. The maximum usable pressure is limited by the lowest-rated component in the system.
This combination is for water above 10°C. A cold-water second stage alone does not turn a warm-water first stage into a cold-water regulator system.
What’s included
MC9 first stage, Compact primary second stage and Compact octopus in the selected connection option.
Care, rinsing and storage
After each dive, connect the assembled regulator to a scuba cylinder and open the valve to pressurise the system. Keep it pressurised while fully submerging the first stage, second stages and connected hoses in fresh water. This allows thorough cleaning of the exposed components and hoses while helping prevent water entering the internal air passages, where it can cause corrosion and damage. Keep the cylinder secure throughout cleaning.
For routine cleaning, Dive Gear Australia recommends Cressi Neoclean Wetsuit Wash Neoprene Cleaner 500 mL or Revivex Wetsuit Shampoo 10 oz to help remove salt, chlorine and everyday residue. Dilute according to the cleaner’s label, then rinse thoroughly with fresh water.
Keep the regulator pressurised throughout washing and rinsing. Lift it out of the water and dry the first stage and cylinder connection before closing the cylinder valve, releasing the pressure and disconnecting. Fit the clean, dry dust cap, then allow the regulator to dry in the shade. Store it with the hoses loosely curved, without sharp bends or tension.
Before each dive, inspect the mouthpiece, hoses and connections for wear or damage. Have your regulator serviced by an authorised Cressi technician at the interval specified in its manual, or sooner if it leaks, is damaged or its breathing performance changes. Leave internal adjustments and repairs to a qualified technician.
