Salvimar Drake Anti-Fog Mask
Enjoy an open view underwater with the Salvimar Drake, a frameless mask for recreational scuba diving and snorkelling. This black MS0020 model has an elastic strap and a soft, hypoallergenic silicone skirt moulded directly onto its single tempered-glass lens.
Features and benefits
- Integrated Hydrophobic Glass: the anti-fog treatment is incorporated directly into the tempered-glass lens. Wet the glass before use to activate the treatment and help reduce fogging that obscures your view.
- Frameless panoramic view: the single lens avoids a central lens divider. Moulding the silicone skirt directly onto the glass removes the need for a separate rigid frame, supporting an open view underwater.
- Adjustable elastic strap: the band stretches as you put the mask on and remove it, while its adjustment lets you fine-tune the tension for a comfortable fit.
- Soft silicone skirt: the flexible sealing edge follows the contours of your face to help form a comfortable seal when the mask fits correctly.
Fit and choosing your mask
Check the seal on your own face before use. Hold the mask against your face without the strap, gently breathe in through your nose and check that it stays in place without pressure points. Keep hair outside the skirt and make sure you can reach and pinch your nose comfortably for equalisation. If you wear a hood, check the seal with the hood in place too.
Use only enough strap tension to hold the mask comfortably. Overtightening can distort the skirt and cause leaks. A mask’s suitability depends on your face shape; contact our team if you need help choosing between diving masks or snorkelling masks.
Anti-fog preparation, washing and storage
What’s included
One black Salvimar Drake MS0020 mask with fitted elastic strap. A snorkel and a protective case are not listed as supplied components.
Wet the lens with water before entering the water. Salvimar’s Hydrophobic Glass instructions say toothpaste, flame treatment and anti-fog spray are not needed for normal preparation. Avoid abrasive cleaning and do not burn the lens.
Rinse thoroughly in fresh water after every use. When washing is needed, use water and a mild detergent, rinse and allow the mask to air dry naturally. Store dry in a protective case, away from prolonged direct sunlight and heat above 50°C. Check the lens, skirt and strap before your next outing.
If you use a separate neoprene strap cover, Dive Gear Australia recommends Cressi Neoclean Wetsuit Wash or Revivex Wetsuit Shampoo, diluted according to the label and thoroughly rinsed away. Regular cleaning, shade drying and protected storage help extend gear life. Follow Salvimar’s water and mild-detergent instructions for the treated lens.
Anti-fog performance can be affected by extreme temperature differences, including a warm face in very cold water. If slight fogging occurs, Salvimar’s instructions allow an anti-fog spray or a small amount of saliva followed by a gentle rinse. Follow the Salvimar Hydrophobic Glass care instructions.
