Mask features
The Mares Force-X pairs an integrated stainless steel frame with a soft silicone skirt. Its Y-shaped buckle arrangement and slim adjusters let you refine strap position for scuba diving or snorkelling.
- Stainless steel frame provides a supporting structure around the lenses.
- Silicone skirt and anatomical strap offer flexible contact at the face and head.
- Y-shaped buckle arrangement distributes the strap connection around the mask.
- Metal lens-retaining clips secure the lens assembly.
- Protective mask box is included for storage.
Snorkel features
- Dry-top closure: The upper valve closes when submerged to help limit water entering the tube.
- Silicone mouthpiece and corrugated tube: The flexible lower section lets you position the mouthpiece naturally and allows it to move aside when released.
- Lower purge housing: Water collects in the rigid lower chamber, with an exhaust valve beneath it for clearing.
- Sliding keeper: Move the mask attachment along the tube to set a comfortable height beside your mask.

Mask size and fit guidance
Check the skirt seal and nose access. If you need corrective lenses, ask us to confirm compatibility for the exact mask before ordering.
Face width, shape and nose-pocket comfort determine mask fit. A small, medium, large or youth label is a starting guide only. Keep hair clear of the skirt and use light strap tension; do not overtighten a mask to compensate for a poor fit.
Snorkel fit and use
Set the keeper height so the mouthpiece reaches your mouth without pulling on the flex tube. Check the bite and your lip seal before entering the water. Select the colour from the available options.
Use the snorkel for breathing at the surface with its opening above the water. Clear any water before taking your next breath; a snorkel does not supply air while submerged.
Buying for someone else
If this is a gift, ask about the wearer’s current mask fit and allow time to check the seal and mouthpiece comfort before the first trip. Mask size and mouthpiece comfort need separate checks. Our Hallam team can help compare suitable shapes.
Care and storage
Compatible cleaning products
For a coated, prescription or anti-fog-film lens, use only the cleaner or defogger approved by that lens manufacturer. Gear Aid Sea Drops is not recommended for prescription lenses or anti-reflective coatings. For a separate neoprene strap cover, if you use one, we recommend Cressi Neoclean Wetsuit Wash or Revivex Wetsuit Shampoo to clean compatible neoprene. Wash that component separately according to its care label and the cleaner’s dilution instructions, then rinse thoroughly and dry in the shade. These neoprene cleaners are not a recommendation for the mask lens or a regulator assembly.
Rinse in fresh water after use, including the buckles, then let the mask dry in the shade.Store it in a protective case without crushing the skirt. Follow the supplied instructions for lens preparation and anti-fog treatment, especially for coated lenses. Avoid abrasive cleaners, toothpaste and flame treatment.
Flush the snorkel, mouthpiece and any valves with fresh water after use. Remove trapped sand and let the equipment dry in the shade before storage.
