Sea and Sea MDX-αU For Sony α1-α7IV
The SEA&SEA MDX-αU is an aluminium underwater housing for the listed Sony α1, α9II, α7SIII, α7RIV and α7IV cameras. Camera setup parts and accessible controls depend on the model and housing version.
Features and details
- 100 m depth rating; approximately 2,900 g for the housing alone.
- Large rear viewing panel, port lock and lens-release control.
- Standard leak alarm with CR2032 battery and manual pump.
- Standard 0.5× optical viewfinder; optional viewfinders can produce vignetting.
- Optional optical TTL, manual optical or electrical strobe connections.
- α1 and α9II drive/focus controls require their respective customisation kits.
- α7IV shooting-mode control requires its customisation kit; S&Q is unavailable.
- Multi-selector directional operation is restricted; consult the manual for focus-point assignment.
- Housing cap, fibre-optic cable cover, silicone grease, O-ring remover, hex keys, setup parts and manuals included.
Confirm the housing serial version, camera, port, lens gear and lighting system before ordering. The α7IV customisation kit cannot be used with electrical strobe sync. Cameras, lenses, ports, converters and customisation kits are separate accessories unless specified in the selected package.
We dispatch orders five days a week, usually within 1–3 days. Standard mainland Australian shipping is $20. Click & Collect from our Hallam store is free once your order is ready.
- Large or bulky gear: additional freight charges apply on top of standard shipping: large dive bags $30; long freediving fins $15; long spearguns $20. Scuba tank freight is shown at checkout.
- Rural, remote & offshore: rural means anywhere outside metropolitan areas. Carrier availability and additional charges may apply, including for island and territory destinations. Our team will contact you if an extra freight quote is needed.

We offer a 30-day exchange on most unused products within Australia when they are in saleable condition with their original packaging and accessories.
