Salt water can leave salt crystals and residue inside a buoyancy compensator, particularly around the inflator mechanism and internal bladder. Regular freshwater rinsing helps remove this build-up before it becomes difficult to clean, supporting reliable operation and helping extend the service life of your BCD.

Why Rinse the Inside of Your BCD?
Fresh water can enter a BCD bladder during normal diving and may carry salt, sand and other contaminants with it. If left inside after a dive, saltwater can dry and leave deposits around the bladder, dump valves and inflator components.
