What is included
- Ocean Hunter Redback Railgun, with a choice of 80, 90, 100, 110 or 120 cm.
- Ocean Hunter Yellow Inflatable Float with Alpha flag.
- Ocean Hunter 10 m Foam Filled Float Line with Speed Needle and Loop.
Redback railgun: simple loading and practical rigging
The Redback’s aluminium barrel has an integrated rail to support the 7 mm marine-grade stainless-steel shaft. Its glass-reinforced nylon handle, stainless-steel trigger components and line release provide durable controls, while the loading butt spreads the contact area during loading.
A single 16 mm band with a Dyneema bridle is supplied. The closed double-band muzzle leaves room for a compatible second band if you later alter the setup. The gun comes rigged with one wrap of 400 lb monofilament, a gun bungee with swivel clip and a handle-mounted shark clip for the float line.
A visible surface marker that packs down
The neon-yellow float inflates by mouth and packs down for travel. An exterior sheath protects its dual-bladder construction, and the included Alpha flag provides a recognisable surface marker.
Foam-filled float line for shallow-water use
The 10 m float line connects the gun and float. Its foam-filled construction does not rely on an airtight tube for buoyancy. A speed needle helps with threading your catch, and the storage keeper keeps the line organised between dives.
Optional sleeves and fins
Add a Rob Allen neoprene gun sleeve for padded storage and transport: Medium is listed for 90–110 cm guns, and Large for 120–140 cm guns. Choose the Large sleeve for the 120 cm Redback. Ocean Hunter Redback freediving fins are also available as an optional extra. Optional items are charged only when selected.
Care, rinsing and storage
Rinse the unloaded gun, float and float line with fresh water after use. Remove sand from clips, the float valve and the gun’s moving parts, then allow everything to dry in the shade. Coil the line loosely with its keeper and store the rubber away from heat and sunlight. Check the band, shaft, shooting line, crimps, clips and float for wear before your next dive.
