The Cressi Iguana Dry Junior gives younger snorkellers a smaller mouthpiece with a closing dry top and a lower purge valve. It is a practical starting point when an adult snorkel feels too bulky in your child’s mouth.

Features and benefits

• Closing dry top: A float mechanism closes the upper opening when submerged, helping reduce water entering the tube from above.
• Soft silicone mouthpiece: The junior bite is designed for a smaller mouth. Check that your child can close their lips comfortably around it.
• Lower purge valve: The valve beneath the mouthpiece gives collected water an exit when the snorkel is cleared.
• Adjustable mask clip: Position the tube beside the mask so the mouthpiece sits naturally, then detach it for rinsing and packing.

Fit and use

Mouthpiece fit and confident water clearing matter more than age alone. Let your child practise in shallow water with close adult supervision. A dry top helps manage incoming water but does not remove the need to learn how to clear the snorkel.

Use the snorkel for breathing at the surface with its opening above the water. Clear any water before taking your next breath; a snorkel does not supply air while submerged.

Care and storage

Rinse the tube, mouthpiece, top mechanism and purge valve thoroughly with fresh water after use. Flush away sand without forcing the valves apart. Let the snorkel air-dry in the shade, then store it away from heat and direct sunlight. Before your next swim, check the mouthpiece, keeper and valves for damage or trapped grit.
