How to measure
- Ask someone to help. Stand upright, look forward and keep your feet flat on the floor. Use a soft tape held close to the body without pulling it tight.
- Height, head and neck: use the measuring points in Waterproof’s diagram.
- Chest or bust: measure around the fullest part, keeping the tape level.
- Waist: measure around your natural waist between your ribs and hips.
- Hips: measure around the widest part with your feet together.
- Neck to crotch: follow the body from the prominent bone at the back/base of your neck to the centre of the crotch.
- Neck to wrist: measure from the same neck point, over the shoulder and along the arm to the wrist.
- Inside leg: measure crotch to ankle for a wetsuit; crotch to floor for a drysuit. Use the matching row in the table.
All body measurements are in centimetres. Select the correct standard, tall or plus fit. For a drysuit, allow room for your usual undergarments; ask us if you are between sizes.

Waterproof W1 5MM Wetsuit Women's
The Waterproof W1 5mm women’s wetsuit brings together a front-zip layout, double cuff seals and reinforced contact areas in a shaped full suit. This established model suits divers looking for substantial neoprene coverage and practical details for regular scuba use.
Features and benefits
- 5mm CR neoprene: a full insulating layer with a women’s anatomical cut. Pre-bent arms and legs and Wave Flex panels support a relaxed diving position.
- Double Glideskin cuffs: smooth inner wrist and ankle seals help reduce water exchange. YKK Vislon cuff zips open for dressing and close over the seal arrangement.
- Reinforced knees and elbows: shaped rubber knee pads and ToughTex fabric protect areas exposed to abrasion while allowing the joints to bend.
- Grip beneath your equipment: polyurethane seat and shoulder reinforcement helps reduce slipping and everyday wear. Computer strap retention helps keep your instrument in position.
- 11mm spine pad: contoured padding adds cushioning and insulation along the back.
- Front/side entry: the main zip sits to the side of the neck, making it easier to reach while preserving movement around the collar. The WaterDam neck design helps reduce water running down the spine.
- Practical instrument details: an accessory platform can hold a suitable compass, while grippy zip pullers help you operate the suit with gloves.

Fit and use
Use the Waterproof size chart and your measurements to choose a close fit with comfortable breathing and movement. Check the neck, wrists and ankles for gaps. Water temperature, dive length, depth and your own cold tolerance all affect the insulation you need.
More About This Model
3D kneepads – 3D moulded vulcanized rubber kneepads. Note the unique design that enables unrestricted leg movements via the “hinge effect”.
Computer strap anchor – To help prevent the computer from slipping off your arm when gloves are removed or suit is compressed. The anti-slip surface makes the computer stay in place.
Double seals – Generous double seals made from glide skin neoprene with zipper at arms and legs. YKK #10 Vislon zipper features a TA slider with an anti-slip designed ZipGrip.
Gear Care and Washing
After every use, rinse the suit inside and out in cool fresh water to remove salt, chlorine, sand and other residue. Gently hand wash when needed using mild soap or a cleaner specifically authorised by Waterproof. Rinse thoroughly after washing.
Let both sides dry completely in the shade with good airflow. Support the suit on a broad wetsuit hanger, or drape it over a wide support to avoid stretching the shoulders. Store clean and dry in a cool place away from direct sunlight, heaters, hot cars and sharp folds.
Handle smooth seals and inner surfaces gently. Avoid scraping, scrubbing, fingernails and jewellery, and do not stretch a seal by pulling on a small section of it.
Rinse sand and salt from the zip and close hook-and-loop tabs so they cannot snag the fabric. Never force a jammed zip. Use only the zip maker’s specified lubricant and storage position; ordinary wax or silicone is not suitable for every specialist zip.
Do not machine wash, tumble dry, iron, bleach or use solvents. Follow the supplied care instructions for this suit and its zip before using any cleaning or maintenance product.
