How to measure for your hood

Use a soft tape held snugly without squeezing.
Head / forehead: measure around the widest part of the head at forehead level, keeping the tape level.
Check each measurement shown in the table and choose the corresponding hood size.

The Waterproof H1 3/5mm short hood combines an anatomical neoprene shape with extra insulation in key areas and a vent system for trapped air. Its shorter neck has no extended bib, making it useful where your suit’s collar arrangement calls for a compact hood.

Features and benefits

3/5mm insulation layout: 5mm double-layer areas cover key heat-loss zones, with 3mm material in the remaining construction. This concentrates warmth while preserving a shaped fit.
HAVS air venting: the Hood Air Venting System uses one-way valves to release air that collects inside the hood, helping prevent an uncomfortable air pocket at the top.
Glideskin sealing surfaces: smooth areas around the face and neck help limit flushing when the hood fits correctly and meets the suit collar neatly.
Anatomical panels and stretch nylon: the three-dimensional shape follows the head, and the stretch outer textile helps the hood move as you turn and look around.
Bonded nylon stitching: quality thread supports the panel joins through repeated dressing and use.
Short neck: the bibless cut avoids an extra layer over the shoulders. Confirm that it leaves appropriate overlap with your exposure suit.

Fit and use

Choose a close, comfortable fit without restricting head movement or pressing uncomfortably on the jaw. Check the mask skirt, face opening and overlap with the suit collar together. Hood thickness alone does not establish a suitable temperature or dive duration.

Care

Rinse inside and out with fresh water after diving. Dry in the shade, away from heat and direct sunlight, and use only cleaning products authorised by Waterproof.
