Give them their first breath underwater
Some gifts become stories people tell for years. A PADI Learn to Dive Gift Card from Dive Gear Australia is an invitation to discover the world beneath the surface, from the excitement of breathing underwater to seeing marine life from a completely new perspective.
It is a memorable birthday, Christmas or milestone gift for someone who has always wanted to learn to scuba dive. Our PADI Open Water Diver course in Melbourne introduces beginners to diving step by step, with training through our Hallam dive centre.
An adventure with skills to take further
- Start learning before getting wet: PADI eLearning introduces the knowledge behind scuba diving, ready for the practical sessions.
- Build skills in the pool: practise using scuba equipment with an instructor before heading into open water.
- Experience four open-water shore dives: put new skills into practice in Melbourne’s local diving environment.
- Work towards PADI certification: successful completion earns an internationally recognised qualification for future diving within the diver’s certification limits, training and experience.
- Make the invitation personal: add a message and image, then send the gift by email or schedule a delivery date.
What the gift covers
The $849 gift-card value matches the currently listed PADI Open Water Diver course price. The course combines eLearning, pool training and four shore dives. Wetsuit and scuba hardware are provided; personal mask, snorkel, gloves, boots and fins are not included and must be supplied or purchased separately.
The recipient will need to arrange their course booking with Dive Gear Australia. Buying a gift card does not reserve a training date. Check the current course details, availability and inclusions when planning their experience.
Before you choose this experience
- Water confidence: participants must complete the course swim or snorkel assessment and a 10-minute swim or float.
- Age: Open Water Diver certification is for ages 15 and over. Junior training is available from age 10 with age-specific limits; discuss junior bookings with our team.
- Medical requirements: participants must complete the diver medical questionnaire and obtain clearance when required. DGA also requires a diving medical for participants aged 45 and over.
- Preparation: eLearning must be completed before the course. Participants need their own transport to the training locations and should arrange their equipment fitting with DGA beforehand.
