Ocean Hunter Phantom Purge snorkel
The Ocean Hunter Phantom Purge combines a flexible open tube with a lower purge valve. It suits freedivers and spearfishers who prefer a streamlined snorkel but want a bottom outlet to help clear collected water at the surface.
Features and benefits
- Contoured flexible tube: The curved shape sits alongside your head and flexes when it contacts equipment.
- Open upper end: The simple opening has no closing dry-top mechanism. Water can enter when it is submerged.
- Silicone mouthpiece: The soft bite lets you find a comfortable seal without needing to hold a rigid tube against your mouth.
- Lower purge valve: An outlet beneath the mouthpiece gives water a short exit path when you clear the snorkel.
- Mask keeper: The attachment holds the tube alongside your mask and lets you set a comfortable height.
Fit and use
Adjust the keeper so the mouthpiece sits naturally. Check that the purge valve is clear of grit and practise clearing in shallow water before taking it on a longer surface swim.
Use the snorkel for breathing at the surface with its opening above the water. Clear any water before taking your next breath; a snorkel does not supply air while submerged.

Care and storage
Flush the tube and mouthpiece with fresh water after use, including the lower purge valve. Let it air-dry in the shade and store it away from heat and direct sunlight. Check the mouthpiece, keeper and valve for wear or trapped sand before each swim.
