The Apollo Bio Metal C Class UV420 mask brings together Japanese craftsmanship, a regular-fit surgical-grade silicone skirt and coated tempered-glass lenses. Choose it for the familiar 110 cc Type-C fit with the added UV-filtering lens treatment.

Regular Type-C fit

The C Class is the regular-fit option, with a 110 cc skirt. Its soft sealing edge and accessible nose pocket make it a useful starting point if you prefer a roomier fit than the D Class. Check that the skirt seals comfortably around your cheeks and nose without overtightening the strap.

Japanese craftsmanship and soft silicone

Made in Japan, the precision-machined aluminium-alloy frame is hand-polished and anodised for a rich finish. Its slim construction keeps the mask compact. A soft surgical-grade silicone skirt follows your facial contours, giving you a supple sealing surface for longer sessions in the water.

Tempered glass with a UV420 coating

The lenses combine tempered glass with a multilayer UV420 surface coating. Tempering strengthens the glass; the coating filters ultraviolet and some short-wavelength visible light. The peach-coloured reflection comes from that coating.

How the UV420 coating works

Apollo applies a multilayer coating to the tempered-glass lens surface. The coating reduces the light transmitted through the lens in the ultraviolet region and into the short-wavelength violet end of visible light, up to approximately 420 nanometres. This is the meaning of UV420: the number describes the wavelength range the treatment targets.

For diving and snorkelling, this helps reduce UV reaching your eyes through the lenses while you wear the mask. It is a useful feature for surface swimming, where reflected sunlight can add to exposure. Looking after your eyes also means wearing UV-blocking sunglasses on the boat or shore when the mask is off.

The coating produces a peach-coloured surface reflection. Apollo explains that its reflective appearance changes underwater, helping preserve eye contact with your buddy. Rinse away salt and sand before cleaning, and avoid polishing or abrasive products on the coated outer surface.

Care and storage

Rinse with fresh water after each use and flush away sand before touching the lenses. Use a soft cloth only after grit has been removed. Avoid abrasive cleaners or polishing the coated lens surfaces. Let the mask dry out of direct sunlight and store it with the skirt and strap relaxed.

Adjustable split silicone strap

The wide, split rear section spreads contact across the back of your head and helps keep the strap in place. Adjust the side buckles for a secure, comfortable fit without pulling the skirt tight against your face.
